I finally got around to opening up the computer at home that I haven’t been able to power-up since the electrical storm a year ago. This is the inside of the power supply. The fuse does not conduct current (is blown).
So I’m wondering how a power surge got through the surge protector that the computer is connected to, blew the fuse in the power supply, then fried the circuit board.
Oh well, I’ll just stick to root canals. The computer still won’t boot either. There’s a problem with either the hard drive controller or the master drive. I suspect the drive itself, but it will probably take me another year to investigate that.
