Cracked Roots.

Fractures, Surgery February 22nd, 2006

Vertical Fracture Root.Speaking of pulling things out from the back of the desk drawer, I had a case today that we aborted the root canal on because of a crack that I found that ran through the floor of the pulp chamber.

I dug the picture above and the two below of cracked teeth out from my archives.

The Boyfriend.

The Boyfriend.

We saw The Boyfriend yesterday in Toronto. We found that the vocals were excellent, but were disappointed with the show overall. Ironically, the direction was lacking (Julie Andrews directed the show) and so the ending (climax) was incongruous with the story.

Curved Lower PMHere’s a case we just finished. Because of the curve and length of canal (26mm), I had to instrument the canal by hand files rather than rotary files. I haven’t done that for a case in years. This case was sent to me after the GP had already been in the canal and found that he couldn’t get to the apex.

Patients February 7th, 2006

I-Glasses and Rubber DamHere’s a patient from a few years ago. I’m not sure how I got talked into doing root canal treatment on both sides of the mandible simultaneously. I don’t do that anymore unless there are extenuating circumstances. Anyway, she (hopefully) enjoyed watching a movie during the lengthy procedure.
