Our Cuban Pig Roast.
Cowland, People July 17th, 2006
We had our first ever pig roast this weekend, and because of how successful it was, we hope to make it an annual event. The weather was beautiful for the entire day.
The roast was done cuban style and couldn’t have been easier to cook. I had to modify the pig holder because I couldn’t find aluminum mesh at Home Depot. I used steel mesh and rebar for the main part of the holder. It rusts easily, but also cleans up easily with some steel wool.
Oscar, the pig, was 63 pounds butchered weight and was bought from Beeton Meats. Thanks to everyone for bringing food and to Blair and Larissa for helping out.
Here are a couple of pictures of the roaster empty and then with Oscar cooking on it:

We’ve been busy with work, still getting over our coughs, and getting ready for a pig roast that we’re going to be holding this weekend.

And this is the Girl outside of the Canon theatre in Toronto after the last show of Martin Short’s new comedy, Fame Becomes Me. What a great show that was. It’s off to Chicago and then Broadway after.
