Becoming Peace.
People November 28th, 2006
We just finished a meditation series given by Neil Arbic. There are different reasons that people meditate. Some are new agey, others are more religious. While I was in university, I ended up self-learning aspects of the Silva Method and I do believe that I achieved what I did in life afterwards mostly because of that system. As with all of this stuff, though, it’s impossible to prove to others that it works. Neil was my first real teacher of meditation. He brings no agenda to the table. He simply teaches you to find peace within yourself. He shows how meditation allows us to experience the beauty of living by doing nothing. By returning the practice of meditation to my life, Neil has returned something that I didn’t even know I had lost.
Overzealous Post Space Preparation.
Dentistry November 28th, 2006
Ignoring the periodontal issue with the 6, there’s a carbon fibre post in the 5 and it seems to go all the way to the apex.
I decided to try to retreat the endo because apical surgery would wack too much of the root off and create a very unfavourable crown to root ratio.
During the retreatment the radiopaque areas turned out to be residual gutta percha, and the post did indeed go the apex. I ended up thinning out the root so much apically that a perforation developed and I lost a fragment of the post into the periapex. The tooth is currently medicated with calcium hydroxide paste. We’ll see how it fares over the next couple of weeks. Prognosis is currently guarded.
