Mood Lights.

Dr. Mommy inspired this post.
The Girl works indoors and has no windows at work through which natural light can shine. She also works in the dark (overhead fluorescents off) most of the time because she finds that the contrast this generates against the operating light helps her to see the stuff she needs to see in the mouth better.
Unfortunately for me, the lack of natural light makes her really cranky in the fall and winter. Her sleep patterns also become very obviously disrupted.
I’ve never noticed anything like this with myself. This last fall, though, I did find that I was not sleeping soundly at night and I was waking up feeling very unrested. Thinking back, it’s likely that the seasons have affected me over the years.
I saw this light unit at Costco, and purchased the P2 unit from Costco Online, a couple of months ago.
Since we’ve been using it we’ve noticed a definite improvement in sleep patterns, motivation, and mood. More information on the unit and research into light therapy here.
