Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been noticing a hint of a sweet, florally scent around the house. The only times we usually smell this kind of thing is from the spray cans in the washrooms or when The Girl forgets some fruit in a corner of the kitchen and it starts to rot.

We haven’t been able to track the source of the scent until today. We opened the door to the least used room in our house, my study, and were blasted by the scent full force. I’ve never seen one of these plants flower before:

The plant was obviously trying to communicate with us via scent because it was quite desperate for water. You can see the leaf tips browning.

shame on you guys! such a pretty thing hidden away, and isn’t it funny that the least used room of your house is your study, lol, you got too many plants, which is a good thing, great, in fact, but then it’s easy to forget one or two of them. we only got one, and it’s one of those that would live for a while in its pot and then die when it’s time to die and end of story. my husband thinks we can’t look after plants anyway, cuz we forget to water them and they die! and i wanna have children with this man!
p.s. did i mention the flower is gorgeous?

last time a plant bloomed sporadically like that at my MIL’s house i found out i was pregnant with the cookie.

and it’s no surprise that your study is the least used ;-)

Why are you people not surprised that the study is the least used room?

I think I’ll move the bar and a TV into it…
