WhyWeBuy

Who would have thought that retailing was so complicated?

After reading this book, I almost wanted to go and open up a retail outlet of some sort to experiment with some of Underhill’s findings.

Well, aren’t you going to give us the Coles’ Notes version of this book? ;-)

Coles Notes version: Any successful store knows how to entice you, your spouse, and your kids to impulse-buy. They do things like strategically placing signage and co-locating merchandise that might increase the saleability of each other.

It’s a lot of common sense but that is the case in a lot of serendipitous discoveries.

I really recommend the book for anyone in the retail biz.
