Blog Stalking.

InternetOsphere February 27th, 2008

Solitary Penguin has returned to the blogosphere after a prolonged absence. She has a good reason to have been away–her newly-bought practice has been causing her grief. facebook has probably gotten in the way too.

Before EntreCard, I had about 6 regular readers and only a few blogs that I felt personally interested in. Don’t get me wrong–I read quite a few blogs, but there were only a handful that I felt compelled to comment on. This was after almost a couple of years of blogging. I’ve never read anyone’s blog in its entirety.

After reading her last post I felt the urge to go backwards through her blog, or even start at the beginning and travel…but then I pictured myself doing that and felt like a stalker. So I didn’t.

Isn’t that strange?

I know what you mean! I found her through your post, and I’ve been scouring the internet for dental blogs for a couple of weeks now.

So many so called dental blogs have comments closed, are just sitting there with no updates, just a bunch of blah blah blah about buy dental insurance here etc. Yawn!

I’m so glad I saw this post and was able to go check out her blog and posts, and actually be able to comment and interact with others in dentistry.

Now if we can get her on StumbleUpon that would be cool! :)

I’ve left a comment on your site with some more links. The comment might go into your spam bucket though, so check for it…

Hello I guess you need to add me as one of your regular readers haha I’ve been reading your blog for over a year now with much interest but never felt the urge to comment. A few of my classmates(I’m a dental student in Singapore) also read your blog so I’m sure your regular readership is much higher than you believe. =)

Hi Ed, thanks for the comment…and for stalking my blog. Hope to hear more from you and your classmates.

lol Don’t worry too much about it. If they didn’t want you to read the entire journey of their blogging life, they would’ve taken it off the internet wouldn’t they? :) I’m sure she’ll actually be glad you enjoyed her content so much that you kept reading!

Thanks for the comment. Was I being stalked as well?

I am inspired by the volume of material you have published. It’s great to see other dentists writing. Especially about clinical situations. I’ve bookmarked your site, and plan on checking in often.

One question. How did you get that great icon in the address bar?

    Fragileheart: Hmm…Point taken.

Dan: I haven’t had time to stalk you yet because I just found your site. Looking forward to more posts from you. I don’t really have a connection to my alma mater over here in Canada. I was happy when I was directed to your blog by Lin. Brings back lots of good and bad memories. The avatars in the comments sections are via gravatar.com or mybloglog.com. The icon next to the URI is a favicon.

Thanks for those links to those other dental sites, I haven’t had a chance to check them all out yet, but I will. It’s been crazy at work with the doc being sick and grumpy, and my father in-law being in the hospital, I haven’t had time to breathe let alone write more posts. :(

It’s been a crazy week for us over here too. Major family crisis which is still working itself out…I firmly believe a lot of what came down on me this week is because of the recent full moon and lunar eclipse. More about all of this to come.
