A Childish Rhyme.

Creative April 12th, 2008

For The Girl:

Lost in Darkness,
my life before
Meandering the sands
of a distant shore

But all I loved,
with all my core
continued my heart
there would be more

And then it was you,
upon this shore
And it was you,
forever more

For all my faults
which might not cure
Please keep me yours
forever more

For when we find
that life is yore
I will remain yours
forever more

For the poetry impaired, why is this a childish rhyme?

Rudy: Because I’m trying to be modest, because I don’t have an English lit background, and because it’s not a sonnet.

It’s also because every poem I write tends to be a 4-line scheme.

Laney: Shania’s Forever and Always will be one of my favourites for a long, long time. I wish I wrote that song. I know you don’t like it though…because people get old in the video.

It’s a cute poem Peri, makes me very proud (hehe I don’t have an english lit background either – but I’ve written many poems) ;P

I can almost hear Zamfir playing in the background. That’s gold PA, gold! I’m talkin Barry Manilow calibre! God, I’m a sarcastic bastard.

    fragile: thanks!

Fonz: Zamfir is the best pan-flutist ever. Manilow is a little quirky but his music is timeless. You’re just jealous of them I’m sure.

  • fonzie’s ghost

At this point I’m pretty much jealous of anyone with all or most of his hair. Back to the poem though, the more I read it the more it seemed like Barry really could turn that into a song. It ain’t no “Mandy”, but with a pan flute back-up it could be right up there with “Weekend in New England”. Or maybe it’s just the oxycodone.

Really? I see it more as a Bon Jovi song.
