I was doing very well at lowering that stack of journals behind my desk until Twitter came along. Sure, Entrecard slowed me down a bit, but I knew the novelty of card dropping would wear thin soon enough.

Twitter’s programming overhaul that it has been undergoing over the last week has given me some time to consider reading some of those journals but I’ve gotten bogged down with unusually wacky patients and dentists. So the journals will have to wait.

Why not take some home you ask?

If I took them home to read, I wouldn’t be able to follow Calculus around and visually record her crazy antics. For example here she is intent to swim in our new pool. The water is still a little frigid, but that’s nothing that a wet suit won’t fix:

And after shivering around in the pool, you get tired. So why not find a nice warm rock to take a nap on?

I haven’t taken the time to figure out what is going on with Entrecard lately, between the overhaul changes made and downtime, I haven’t done any chaindropping for a couple of weeks now. I’m still hanging in there for the time being to see what supposed “improvements” are being implemented, so we’ll see.

There just aren’t enough hours in the day to chaindrop, Twitter tweets and all other social networking addictions, while also spending the time needed to develop and publish articles. Especially with a very sore elbow, I’m just prioritizing and not worrying about the other nonsense behind the scene at Entrecard.

Entrecard downtime doesn’t bother me as much as Twitter’s downtime. I’m still waiting for IM service to restart so that TwitterSync on facebook will work again.

why is it dentists always have dental crap strewn across their windowsiles? every. single. one.

The big teeth are souvenirs from dental school. I think they’re really neat, so have never gotten rid of them. The real teeth in the jar are from the oral surgery office next door. I like to keep them on hand for my experiments with different file systems.

The pool is pretty cool. It’ll probably take this entire year for us to get it ecologically balanced. The aquatic plants need to grow in a bit so that they use up the nutrients that the algae likes.

I don’t use Entrecard myself much in terms of dropping cards or advertising any more.
Most blogs I read through their RSS feed, so don’t get a chance to drop my card.

I still think it’s one of the best things out there when it comes to finding new blogs though. They can tinker as much as they like with their Entrecredit economy, so long as that doesn’t change.

Love your rocky pool, it’s looking good.

Thanks re: the pool. It has turned out quite nice.

Entrecard definitely put me onto a few cool bloggers (you and I got to know each other via Entrecard) but card dropping on dialup when I’m home is painful and I only work 4 days per week so I’m home a lot.

    I’m glad that you’re doing a little better…
