A Sharp Samba.

This is samba the way it should be danced:

The Girl is in Cali.
Cowland, Music March 11th, 2007
The Girl has made it to Cali, Colombia and is enjoying the hot weather down there. We’re starting to get tired of the KFC that we’ve been eating since yesterday and we miss her. Here’s my new favourite waltz which makes me think of her, but also of a post I wrote a long time ago when I was much younger–and also of Brokeback Mountain:
Bryan Adams – I Will Always Return (Finale)
I hear the wind call my name
The sound that leads me home again
It sparks up the fire – a flame that still burns
To you I will always return
I know the road is long but where you are is home
Wherever you stay – I’ll find the way
I’ll run like the river – I’ll follow the sun
I’ll fly like an eagle – to where I belongI can’t stand the distance – I can’t dream alone
I can’t wait to see you – Yes I’m on my way homeNow I know it’s true
My every road leads to you
And in the hour of darkness
Your light gets me throughYou run like the river – you shine like the sun
You fly like an eagle
You are the one
I’ve seen every sunset
And with all that I’ve learned
Oh it’s to you – I will always return
It’s from the Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimarron soundtrack. The main version is a Viennese waltz while the finale is a slower waltz.
To the Girl, From the Boy.
Music February 14th, 2007
Me: You should write her a thank you on the blog.
The Boy: But I can tell her at home.
Me: But our readership is up and she likes when everyone knows how much you love her.
The Boy: Um Ok.
“Dear The Girl,
These arrived at work today and I knew they were from you because your name was on the card (”from The Girl”). Thank you! Hope you like what I got you.
Love, The Boy.”
Me: That’s it?
The Boy: Yeah why?
Me: Well it is Valentine’s Day. It might be good to put a little more thought into it. How do you really feel about her right now.
The Boy: Well I feel like between us it’s a book–that we’re a book of some kind. And there’s love and dancing and I’m just so happy she’s with me forever. There’s music and laughing and crying. But we’re together.
Me: Aha. I know just the thing for you:
Compare and Contrast in 100 Words or Less.
Music January 22nd, 2007
Let’s smash some pumpkins. Although I like a lot of their stuff, they really suck live (as most bands do these days).
But Shania…well I wonder if she’d be willing to come sing at the Pig Roast. This is my favourite song of hers. Shouldn’t surprise you…I’m a sucker for the sentiment in it.
Awesome Rumbas.
Dancing, Music January 4th, 2007
That’s some really, really, good dancing that we’ll never be able to come close to, but it doesn’t hurt to try. This is our current favourite song to rumba to:
